0 Bento #197 - Inside-Out Tulip Sandwiches (and trip photos)

Tuesday, July 19, 2011

Today we have "inside-out" tulip sandwiches with cheese and ham, and a large helping of fresh fruit salad.  E likes to make her sandwiches herself and be creative with the order in which she eats them, so it's a good lunch for her.

Bento #197 - 12 grain whole wheat toast, cheddar and Colby cheese, deli ham, broccoli & cauliflower, and fresh mixed fruit salad.

Now, a food picture from our trip.  These stuffed green and black olives were the appetizer at Spaghi Pizzeria Ristorante, North London - we chose a couple of delicious handmade pizzas.  The Quattro Stagioni (ham, mushrooms, artichokes & olives) and the Pizza Romana (ham, mozzarella, tomato, pepperoni & mushrooms.)  Excellent!

We were literally stranded at this restaurant, so I'm very happy that it was a great meal.  Long story short, our Peugeot rental car died (in a roundabout during rush hour!) on our way out of London on the third day, so we dined here while we waited for the tow truck to rescue us.  (Big thank-you to Lady MiniCabs for being so incredibly helpful and friendly!  In fact, if you click on their link you will see that the green arrow is pointing exactly where we broke down.)

Poor Peugeot.

3 Bento #159 - Grilled Chicken & Cherries

Monday, January 31, 2011

Aww, a Lunch Punch butterfly!  It's got cheese and thinly sliced chicken on Publix brand White Mountain bread (yum!)  I also made a cute flower with cutouts from the little kit I got from AllThingsForSale.  Super easy, and adorable.  It goes along with the center I am doing for the kids this morning - tangram puzzles.

Bento #159 - Grilled chicken & cheese, carrots and fresh cherries.

2 Bento #157 - Wontons Traffic Jam

Wednesday, January 26, 2011

These are new food picks I got recently from AllThingsForSale, but I wasn't really sure what to do with them.  They are transit vehicles.  Today they are in a traffic jam with Mr. Penguin the crossing guard (though I suppose he's not in the most efficient traffic-directing area.  I assume that's why they don't give penguins that kind of responsibility.)

Speaking of AllThingsForSale, look out for a new giveaway in the very, very near future!  In the meantime, click my affiliate banner link to the right of the blog, and when you check out with code Bentobloggy you will get 5% off, and 5% goes into Bentobloggy.com's affiliate account - when it reaches $25, I'll use it to do another giveaway!  (Currently there's about $11 in there.)  See?

Bento #157 - Chicken wontons, organic baby carrots, sunflower seeds, dried blueberries cheese and an apple GoGo SqueeZ (not shown.)
