9 Bento #96 - Fried Rice & Grapes

Thursday, August 19, 2010

I really think fried rice was invented by a mom with a lot of leftovers.  Today I made fried rice out of a bunch of leftovers - cold steamed Jasmine rice, cauliflower and romanesco, and a lone Kosher hot dog, minced, along with the obligatory egg.  It was a big hit, and E wanted two helpings!

Bento #96 - Fried rice, sugar snap peas and carrots, organic green grapes and Caesar dipping sauce.

Here in the Philippines, fried rice is always one of the most-loved foods for breakfast.♥ Anything you mix with it is good! :)

@ Christopher - they are called training chopsticks and these particular ones are Pororo characters. I picked these up at Super H but they can also be found on Amazon.

These dishes are so cute. It's true that the way the food is presented will make a difference in whether or not a child eats it, and with presentations like this, how could they not? I'll have to remember to try some of these for my kids.

my oldest LOVES fried rice- VERY eggy fried rice. He makes it all the time. (I need my own chickens). I hate the smell of cooking eggs.

I'm debating if mt teen boys are too old for those cool dishes. I think not.I'd use them.
