We are really gearing up today for our first week of school. Today E met her teachers (whom she already knew, she had Mrs. M last year and we love her.) Her first full day of school is Friday, so we will have a bento for sure. Today's also a momentous occasion, because I had two ladies come in and clean my house for 4 hours. And it needed it, having been away so often these past few months, some things have gotten neglected. I could've cried when I came home, everything looked so beautiful! They even organized all of E's baby dolls! Wow.
So, on to what you've all been waiting for. The winner of the back-to-school bento prize pack is...

Hello Emily, I am a new follower. I love seeing how you do the bento "american style". I am American, but am married to a Japanese man and we are raising our two sons here in Japan. I do the whole bento thing here, too! I make a bento for my husband every morning...not as cute as yours are, though. But now that my boys are in elem.school...4th and 1st grade...they get school lunch. I made bentos everyday for 6 years - 3 years of kindergarten each - but even though I tried at the beginning to make cute bentos, both boys ended up saying, "I don't need a cute bento, as long as it's delicious and big." LOL
Keep up the good work!

I think it's great that your trying to get your kid to eat new stuff. But a word to the wise: Try to make the food presentable. No one wants to eat something that looks like it just got ran over and someone just put it on a plate!
Lindsay, you are welcome! Thanks everyone! @ Zeke - good thing that's what I do on this blog ;)
Congrats to the winner!! The bento prize looked amazing! Enjoy some good food!
