4 Bento #205 - Orange Day Bento

Wednesday, August 24, 2011

This was E's lunch and snack for Orange Day in her Kindergarten class.  Lots of this bright, cheery hue going on here.

 Isn't this guy so adorable?

Bento #205 - Genoa salami & Colby cheese sandwich bites, organic baby carrots, organic orange slices, and dip.  Snack - Slushy applesauce and Goldfish crackers.

Also, if you haven't already done so would you mind visiting Parents.com and giving Bentobloggy your vote?  Thanks!

I'm new to your blog and the bento concept. How do you keep the food cold in the bento?
Thanks for sharing your wonderful ideas!

Hi Betsy, thanks for stopping by! These days I've been freezing applesauce and tossing it in with the bag, but you can also use small ice packs. I also use a very cold bottle of water in the top compartment of E's bag to help keep things cold.

Check out my tips & tricks posts starting here:

Where did you get the "super-cute" tiger container that is holding the goldfish crackers. My son just started Kindergarten, and I am trying to pack his lunch "bento-style. That container would be VERY helpful.
Love your blog as always

Hi Emily! That container actually comes from the Dollar Tree, they have a variety of animal snack cups like this one. Can't beat a pack of two for $1!
