Support Autism awareness in the month of April!

Autism affects 1 in 88 children in the United States.  We now have over 1 million children directly affected by autism.

Children on the autism spectrum experience color more intensely than we do, so we designed our Shine Bracelet to reflect the vibrant rainbow of colors that make up an autistic child's world. Help us shine the light on Autism by supporting Autism research and awareness, 20% of proceeds from the sale of the
Shine & Sole, as well as the Revival and Toujours bracelets in April will be donated to Autism Speaks.

Shine Bracelet $39 - Limited edition dark grey braided cord features single pave bead with Czech stones in red, amethyst, black diamond and topaz.

Sole Bracelet $39- Light gray braided cord features single pave bead with Czech stone in black diamond.

Revival Bracelet $34 - Crystal pave balls in hematite, silver and rose gold are combined with a strand of ivory beads.

Toujours Bracelet $34 - A leather cord anchors a band of brushed silver plated bugle beads with a row of faceted beads lending a touch of shimmer.

  • Each bracelet will come packaged with a card stating the contribution.
  • Proceeds benefit both US and Canada.
  • The Shine bracelet has been produced in limited quantity; once the bracelet is sold out, it will be gone for good.
I have set up a Mystery Hostess show called "Autism Awareness" and anyone who makes a purchase in the month of April from that show will be entered to win the hostess credits at its close.  It's simple - at checkout, choose "Autism Awareness" from the hostess drop-down menu.

The Shine bracelet will sell out, so make sure you get yours before that, and make sure to let your friends know!

3 All Thumbs

Thursday, October 27, 2011

Hi guys!  I had to take a little break from making lunches and excessive typing early this week.  I was invited to do some bento demonstrations and show my Stella & Dot jewels with my mommy group at a friend's house on Sunday evening. During my very first bento demonstration of an Aussie apple, (which is normally a very non-dramatic event) I cut myself.  Badly.  The apple slicer I was using completely broke apart as I was pushing down on it.   I received nearly identical lacerations on both my thumbs and palms, three on each.  Yikes!  I spent the balance of the evening in the emergency room getting stitches, which was such a bummer.  My left hand, which took the brunt of the force, is especially sore and bruised black and blue from my wrist to above my first knuckle.  Not pretty in the least.  The picture below is one that my friend's husband took after we hightailed it to the ER.

As a sort of funny/crazy aside, on the way to the hospital, our friend who drove behind my car broke down half way there, and we had to pull over and wait until she could call for help!  All I could do was laugh at the situation and try to keep my upholstery clean.  Anyway, I'm grateful my thumbs are still attached, (yay, I needed those!) that there were no children present, and that I had some wonderfully capable and caring friends to do what needed to be done.
